The WifInfo uses esptool for firmware uploads, esp_ota for over-the-air (OTA) updates. Flash mode is QIO.

About this board

The board is built around the Espressif ESP8266 paired with 4 MB of flash: a single-core Xtensa L106 (up to 160 MHz, ~80 KB RAM) with 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi on the die.

It programs with the Arduino core for ESP8266, MicroPython, or Espressif's NONOS/RTOS SDK, and flashes over serial with esptool (the Arduino core also supports OTA updates) - the same well-trodden toolchain shared across the ESP8266 family, which keeps libraries and example code plentiful.
