What this covers

Ours

The pinout diagrams and board illustrations we draw. These are the files offered for download on each board page, and each one carries the same terms in its own metadata.

Not ours

Product photographs, manufacturer pinout images, datasheets. Those belong to the manufacturers and vendors who made them, and to Espressif. We cannot license them to you.

Reserved

All written content. The pin guidance, the descriptions, the FAQ answers, the articles and the data tables behind them are not covered here - see our terms.

How to credit

Our name and a link back. Pick whichever format fits.

Swap "Pinout diagram" for "Board illustration" when it is the board art rather than the pinout.

Plain text

A video description, a slide, anywhere links are not clickable.

Markdown

A README, a forum post, or documentation.

HTML

A web page, where you want the credit under the image itself.

Keep the credit on the file

This block is the licence

Our mark, the board's own address and the terms are drawn into the foot of every sheet we publish. Share it with that block intact and you have credited us correctly - there is nothing else to do.

Credit line: Creative Commons BY-NC icons, (c) 2026 espboards.dev, CC BY-NC 4.0 The ESPboards mark and the board's page address

So do not crop it out, paint over it, or otherwise hide it. If your layout genuinely cannot keep it - a thumbnail too small to read it, say - carry the same credit and a link to the board page immediately beside the image instead. What is not acceptable is the image travelling with no credit anywhere.

Each file carries the same information inside it, in its metadata, as well as on its face. That is copyright management information: removing or altering it to pass the work off as unattributed is against the law independently of this licence, and it is the one thing here we will always follow up on.

Embed a pinout

Every board page has a one-click copy of this

Paste this where you want the diagram, changing the board key to the one you want. The image is served from our CDN, so you are not hosting anything.

Browse the boards on the ESP32 boards listing. Each board page offers its pinout as a high-resolution PNG, a vector SVG and a print-ready PDF, and the boards we have drawn also offer the bare board illustration as an SVG, a PNG, and a transparent PNG with no background.

Commercial use

Using it commercially? Tell us what you have in mind.

A product listing, a paid course, printed documentation you sell - say which boards and where it will appear, and we will come back to you quickly with terms. Most requests are straightforward.
